Strong Voices, Safe Choices

    Day 3 of Safety Week is in the books! Keith Allen, with Walsh-Turner safety, kicked off the event by introducing Alex Logsdon. Alex was representing Total Tool and demonstrated the effectiveness of hard hats on construction sites. He demonstrated this by dropping a 25lb. pipe at 4' and 8' with various hard hat brands that comply with the Z89.1 standard. He then dropped a 5lb. pipe at 25'. In most cases, the melon was still intact. So, make sure you wear your hard hat at all times to protect your melon!

    Food was provided by the Grecian Mama (gyros), Celtic Pig (brisket and pulled pork), and Six Forks Burger Company (philly cheesesteaks). We wrapped up with our raffle drawing and gave away many cool prizes including a mini-smoker and BBQ utensil set, which is perfect for weekend tailgates.

Louisville VA - North Parking Garage

          The erection of the north parking garage has started! Need a parking spot? The precast will be completed in the summer of 2023. The garage will have 1, 289 parking spots. Precision Stone is the contractor performing the work.       The erection will be completed in 18 sequences. It is composed of 1,177 precast members that includes columns, inverted tees, and double tees. The garage features six levels and will have architectural panels installed on the fa çade. Work can be tedious and overwhelming yet Nationwide performed like the professionals they are.  From a QHSE perspective they "Planned the work and Worked the plan". Deliverable items such as Toolbox Talks and equipment inspections are submitted consistently on a timely basis. We have never had a safety compliance issues. That is a testament of good management and leadership. Nationwide truly exemplifies how professionals can get the job done without sacrificing safety.
