Safety Week 2023 - Day 1

Strong Voices, Safe Choices
Louisville VA kicked off Safety Week cold and windy! The weather did not stop our trades from enjoying Day 1 festivities. The day started in true All Hands fashion at 7:00am with Duck Donuts and coffee. The opening statement was presented by Kat Bighinatti, safety manager, and Matt White, general superintendent. Safety Week orange checklist cards were distributed to all trades in an effort to track participation throughout the week. Employees that have at least 10/12 items will be rewarded by getting entered into a grand prize drawing at the end of the week.
Lunch was provided by Boss Hogg BBQ and Six Forks Burger Company. Food choices included fried chicken, pulled pork, pulled chicken, and multiple sides. Shortly following lunch were the first safety demonstrations of the week. Adam Neyhart with Fall Tech shared fall protection must-knows and displayed their latest fall protection solutions and high-quality equipment. Jim Jorgensen with Jorgensen Sales took the time to showcase their wide variety of glove offerings, ensuring hand protection for many hazards. Options included touch screen capable gloves, anti-vibration gloves, impact gloves and many more. Lastly, Kevin Rose with Quality Supply & Tool was generous enough to hand out many high visibility hoodies to tradesmen.
Overall Day 1 was a massive success with the encouragement for everybody to have Strong Voices, Safe Choices in their day-to-day construction activities. We look forward to seeing you the rest of the week!
